Power antenna messed up

My power antenna will not go all the way down when I turn the radio off. It goes down all the way but about 4 inches. I suppose it is bent or something?? How can I fix this problem, would a new antenna fix it? Thanks

First try cleaning it thoroughly with contact cleaner. The joints in the antena mast often get gummed up with road grime preventing full extension or retraction.
