Post Another Question about MAF airflow vs.Output Frequency with HP Tuners

Ok What do you Need to do generally when you Descreen a stock MAF or go to Bigger ends on an 99 LS1.What I am asking here is do the Numbers go Bigger or smaller in the Table For example Stocks first number is 2.26 I Think and my tuner has 2.44 now?Just a general question I have wanted to know for a while.I think my Tuner has my MAF table out in Left Field somewhere....Thank you for the Help...

If you descreen, I would just run the car in SD mode and then make sure your VE table is within 0 to -4 range, then put the car back on MAF mode and calibrate the MAF with redhardsupra's spreadsheet. Best way to make it accurate.

The numbers will tend to get larger after you do a VE tune and recalibrate the MAF sensor because your MAF will finally read ALL of the air entering the engine. This may not be the case 100% of the time, but in the 4 cars I've lent a helping hand with and/or tuned myself this is what I've seen.

For instance on my 98 WS6, the car pulled a max of about 32 lbs. of air on a good day before my MAF recalibration and tuning. After the MAF recalibration (BIG THANKS to RedHardSupra for all his hard work on that tool!!!) most if not all of the numbers in the MAF table scaled upwards and the car ended up pulling in 40+lbs. of air on that same day (albeit a little later in the day but almost same temperature/pressure).

Hope that helps a bit?
