Default Grooves on the 5 fwy???

Is it just me, or does anyone else have this problem. I notice it whenever I am driving back from a Hooters gathering or from the Alderwood mall area up the 5 North. If I am in the middle lane my car gets tossed around like there are gale force winds going on. I have to grip the wheel ultra tight and hold on because my car gets randomly thrown to the left and right at times, so much so that I have come really close to being in the next lane over and almost hitting people. I have NEVER had this happen before anywhere else and it ALWAYS happens in that area.......up through about Exit 189 or so.

Anyone?

Yep, the mall to around 164th.

That is the worst area of freeway. My car does the same damned thing. Eric says his z06 sails right through there without much problem. Go figure.

Heh... it's even worse now that I put those big *** 18" meats on the back. they ride half in a rut and half out, and it feels like the rear end of my car wants to jump over into the next lane.

You guys have NO idea how relieved I am to hear it isn't yet another problem with my car...........I have driven that route in all 4 of my parents vehicles (Chrysler Concorde, V6 'Stang, '00 F-150 & '05 GMC Envoy) and not ever noticed it.......just in my heap.

Thanks for the responses.....maybe if the WA DOT gets off their asses we would not have to deal with that

A STB makes a lot of that go away, but not all of it. The freeways SUCK in this state!

I have STB, SFC, and full suspension upgrades. I noticed the same problem on my way to Mark's before the show Sunday. I thought that there was NO WAY I would race anyone on this section of highway. I don't know how Mark does it.

And you know that is your highest-in-the-nation gas-tax dollars at work right there.

Well... in particular the freeway north of Lynnwood all the way to Everett Mall. Then again through downtown Seattle... terrible.

The freeways out in Illinois seem to be in better condition, and they get battered by snow and the salt they put down to give traction during the winter...

There really is no excuse for the roads to have been neglected as much as they have around here...

I had the problems all over the freeways around here. Diamond SFC's and the STB did wonders. No more 2 handed holding on for dear life or unexpected lane changes.

STB didn't help me one bit.

I think it's all the morons that drive around with studs on for 4 months out of the year. Dipshits like that shouldn't even have a license to drive.

No ****... everytime I see some minivan roll by with its studs clacking away at the pavement in the middle of May I just wanna yank the driver out and beat them good.

Funny, but places like Illinois where it snows like 6 months out of the year don't allow studded tires like the ones around here... I wonder why that is?

Cause most people in Illinois can actually drive. Not like the general shitty assed drivers in this state.

Today on the way in I saw:

One moron doing his reading on the way in, one hand on the wheel, one hand on the book and randomly glancing up at the road. Going i would guess 10-15mph slower than anybody else on the road.

Another candidate for darwins list, some dingbat putting on her face (which she desperatley needed) in the fast lane, chatting on the phone, putting on make up, rearview in the permanent "how do I look" tilt instead of where it should be pointed. Completely oblivious to her surroundings. I got infront of her and gave her a brake check. Heh, she was putting on her lipstick at the time and looked like the Joker after her emergency stop.

Some couple fighting like cats and dogs in the carpool lane holding up everybody behind them.

I see this **** every farking day.

While I agree with you guys 110%. I hate the idiots that drive SUVs with or without studs, and there is no reason to have them on past March. But in defence of the morons (God, I never thought I would say that) you have to remember there are mountains here while the mid-west has flat land. I went to school in Iowa but have lived here all my life. Give me here.

South bound I-5 is no better, Hell they are suppost to be repairing i-5 from Oregon to Canada but I think they are going to be doing patch work instead of paving the whole damn thing.

Hey now, I resemble that remark. Give me an SUV over a minivan any day of the week.

what is part of the problem is they allow heavy traffic vehicles (18 wheelers & campers & such like that) start traveling the just paved sextions of the hiway before its cured & totally set.

I have the SLP DD sfcs and a hotchkis STB and can only wonder how much worse it would be without them.
