Anyone who has installed a clutch themself, Come in
I have heard of people changing there own clutch and having the bellhousing stick to the back of the engine. Anyone had this problem? And if so, what did you do to get things apart? Just curious, as I am about to swap my stock clutch out for a SPEC III.

There are recesses on either side of the bellhousing/tranny where they meet, which fit a prybar/big screwdriver. I never had a problem on the two I have done though (just had to jiggle it a little and it came right off).

Yes, there are two dowel pins, one on each side of the bellhousing. I believe they are at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. I had one hell of a time prying the bellhousing off, and that's because I had an actual prybar to pry on it. It helps to drop the starter, there is a piece of the block you can use to pry on for some extra help. I also soaked the area where the pins are with WD-40. Just try to get some good leverage on it, and don't be afraid of flexing some muscle.

they can be tight but when you put it back together be sure to take some scotchbrite and clean the dowels and bellhousing up and put a little anti seize on them and next time it will slide right off.

Or do what I did, just get a good size rubber mallot and tap it at 12 o'clock, 3,6,9, but it will fall off, so hold it in place. It has worked for me numerous times. Just another option.

Mine was a little tight and I believe I used a large screw driver to pry it lose at the slot on the bottom. It wasn't all that difficult. The anti sieze is a good idea. Next time I hope I can remember to use a dab on the dowels. Next time it'll be easier to get the job done because I bought a lift. It gets all four tires off the ground and gets the frame about 21 inches off the ground - and it's safe.
