New Amp Spot.. Am I the 1st? Maybe not.. but Check it out
Hey guys,
Check out my new amp Install
(its inside)
First I took some scrap artificial wood from my Dad's deck project, and I counter-sunk a couple bolts into the holes that already exist there.
I put sticky foam to prevent rattles beneath the piece shown here, and that bottom right bolt goes in where the spare tire bolts into the car. The board is 100% solid and rattle free.
Finished product. I'll update it when my system is done. Right now I am trying to get my HU secure (see other post.. GRR)
Let me know what you think!

I wouldn't trust one of those tiny spares to do any good anyways. I would just call someone unless I was going out of town, then I would take it. Nice location. I see you live in CT. Your amp should do fine there. If I were to mount my amp there here in TX, it would overheat and shut off. You shouldn't have any problems though.

I was thinking about mounting my amp back there as well, however I was concerned with it getting hot, but the more I thought about it I began to think its probably not much hotter back there than any other place in the rear of the car. Is this something I should be concerned with? Houston gets awfully hot... I'd hate to damage my amp.

That amp is either huge, or it is the way you took the photo.

Yea its a big amp, 14.25" long. To solve the potential heat problem though, I am going to mount a computer case fan where the rear hatch speaker used to go as an exhaust fan since heat rises.. lol! I hope I don't sound too corny, but maybe it'll work! I'll try and get it done tomorrow.

yeah, it's okay. honestly, the biggest problem i have with that is that you can do the same thing with a an amp rack on the back wall. it's completely stealth with the flap up but you can show it off when you want to.

it's not that big of an amp you have. and most people can make a rear amp rack without paying more than $10 for supplies; it's really not complicated.
your wiring may be simple to hook up, but i bet the controls on the opposing side of that amp are quite the bitch to get to.

I forgot to mention im in a band too, and my car has the most cargo space
I gotta fit a bass drum, 3 toms, a floor tom, symbols, my bass amp and my guitar in there lol so I thought 100% cargo availability would be a good thing.
Im workin on that heat thing now
