Unhappy T-56 problems shifting

I have been having problems with my car not wanting to shift to 2nd or 3rd at high rpms. I have also noticed my clutch slips on hills. The pedle sticks to the floor when I shift at high rpms. I have also noticed that there was a sound of a freespinning bearing for about 3 weeks which finally went away. I replaced the cylinder under the clutch pedle but did not notice any difference. When I replaced it I also noticed that the clutch fluid looked like it was burn and all black. I know I need to replace the clutch plate and pressure plate any advice on the other problem and what parts to use ie. stock or after market.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Also does anyone know any where in southern California that i could have It pulled out and fixed. I want a reliable place that will do the job right. I am tired of dealing with it. Also I have lots of trouble keeping the car in reverse. It pops out all the time.

Sounds just like a clutch thats had enough. If your car is not modded, which I can't tell, I would say go with the stock clutch and resurface the flywheel. If the car is modded go with the RAM Powergrip or something comparable...(did I spell that right). Anyway to me sounds like a whole punch of probs but if its slipping your clutch definately needs some work.

Couple questions....

1. Is your car modded??
2. How many miles do you have on the clutch??
3. What kind of clutch is in ther now?
4. You said you changed the "cylinder behing the clutch".. do you mean the master and if so what did you replace it with?

I got the car about 2 years ago and it had 43,000 on it but I dont know if the clutch has ever been replaced, i am guessing it hasnt. The car now has about 72,000. And i believe the part i replaced it with was a gm part. All i have done to the car is a K&N and a Flowmaster and some bigger plug wires. what is the best clutch out there for these cars?

If your not planning on modding it anymore I would just go with the stock one.

go on ebay, stock Z06 w/flywheel is $420 buy it now. With little mods, u can get away with it. If not, go with the Ram Powergrip w/Ram billet flywheel, if you go that route, you need to switch to an adjustable master (I recommend a AMC from Futral Motorsports) and upgrade to a 2001 or higher F-body slave cylinder. But if you plan to keep your stock setup, go with the Z06 off ebay and you can still manage to run your stock parts. That's my opionion.

well the adjustable from Futral Motorsports is $199+shipping, 2001 slave w/throwout is $139.99, and what ever you can get for installation.
