Default How to determine what octaine is needed for a 300 dp shot

I'm have a seprate fuel system for the 250 direct port shot I'm running now but I was considering stepping up to a 300 shot. I was just curious as to what octaine would be safe to run. I used to run cam 2 in the fuel cell for the nitrous and just 93 in the tank. So I figured dumping in a few gallons of cam 2 in the tank along with the cam 2 in the cell the combined octaine should be sufficiant. As long as there is very little 93 in the tank when I add the cam 2 it should stay around 110 octaine. This should be good as long as I pull a few more degrees of timing for the added amount of nitrous, right?

If I decide to do it, I will tune it on the dyno and will be monitoring knock retard and will make necessary adjustments where needed. Just taking extra precaution to make sure it won't blow on the first spray.

I've run a 300 shot on straight 110...no issues. However, if you want some safety factored in, I would go with some C16.

When I was running a 300 shot I used Sunoco NOS Supreme (117 octane). I also had 12.5:1 compression.

Yeah I used to run 117 but they stoped selling it by the gallon around here and now only carry 50 gallon drums or more. Thanks for the help guys!

We only use 103 for a 250 shot with decreased timing. I would think 110 would be sufficent, and c16 if you want some added insurance to run more timing.
