The title tells you right a way that you were reading a comic book..Fast Fords... ...as usual they will have to SC the darn thing to get it to make any HP..notice that they are using the 302 instead of their late model modular engine=junk...never could figure out why they changed over to that POS...I had no idea that we were blatantly bogarting up and down the streets... ... ...come on guys try and not scare the furds too much...

"We don't want to just beat LS1s, we want to erase them from memory, and watch them evaporate from our rearview mirror."

Don't get me wrong, that motor build up is gonna be nice and fast, but
why for the love of peanuts do they have to write that "death to LS1" propaganda??

I saw that article a few months ago in Popular Hot Rodding and I couldn't believe they would print that !!! I read the first 3 paragraphs-I realized that my mouth had actually dropped open! Then anger set in and I dropped the mag on the floor and walked off. I cooled off 2 isles over and put the mag back on the rack upside down. I will never buy a Popular Hot Rodding magazine---EVER!!!

I like how they brag that their level 20 block can handle 700 hp, but they recommend limiting it to 650. We don't even need any aftermarket shortblock parts for that with ls engines.

I think yall are interpreting that article wrong. If nothing else, its saying that an LS1 is a very tough hombre. Put your egos in check and take it as a complement .

That's the impression I got as well. They are using the rivalry between Ford/Chevy and the fact that the LS1 is better as a sales pitch to sell this kit.

I took it as a compliment. They have to stroke it and blow it to run with an LS1. I'll take a stroked charged LS1 over a Stroked charged 347 any day of the week and twice on Sunday

Are you really that mislead, try making 700hp on your stock shortblock and then come back and tell us that. Take it as a compliment that us Ford guys come gunnin for you, you all have a real fast car right out of the box and we are just tryin to give you some good competition.

I was VERY impressed to see the numbers on the '05 stang. The new '07 Cobra is going to weigh 3,850 lbs without the driver! That's a lil' porky for a sports car. Plus the '03-'04 Cobras were underrated, making about 425 at the crank. So this new one with 475 wont be a major increase in performance over the old one, especially when you consider the added weight.

I'd still drive a Cobra, I just wouldn't PAY money for one.

as would i. I rode in a buddies sonic blue 03 w/ the usual mods like, pulley, exhaust, etc etc(made 427rwhp/449rwtq on dyno) and it pulled so hard and sounded so f'in awesome. At the time my SS was a H/C car making 428rwhp/384rwtq and this Cobra felt so much faster. Musta been the torque i guess. I saw him run an 11.70@121mph w/ 315/35 nitto DRs at the track. i never ran mine though
i say the article was a compliment as well too. Another buddy of mine w/ an 02 GT 5sp(usual bolt-ons) is putting on an HP twin turbo kit right now and i cant wait to ride in it.
