Wiring Oddities - 2001 Camaro
Is anybody running into any problems installing an aftermarket alarm? Although I can't pinpoint it, it seems like the delay-dome dim function is wreaking havoc with the door sensor?
*Any* advice is most appreciatied.

What exactly is happening to your aftermarket alarm? There are several "gotcha's" involved in setting up an aftermarket alarm on our cars. For example, the BCM goes to sleep about 10 minutes after the last door is closed so your alarm remote may not work as expected without some wiring changes.

I've tried it on mine and it is very close to the 10 minutes specified in the owner's manual and service manual. You can test it yourself by rolling down a window and standing outside the car. Up until about 10 minutes after the last door was closed, the door lock/unlock switch on the inside armrest will still function. After the 10 minutes the switch won't do anything - the BCM has gone to sleep.
