Default shift kit ??'s

the last two places i called to see if they can install a shift kit said they wouldnt because they were computer controled and that it would be bad for it.
is any of this true or what????

Idiots. Keep calling around and searching for someone who is familiar with installing the Transgo kit in the 4L60e.

well they are partially right. When you install a shift kit you need to reprogram the pcm and remove torque management. If you dont do that every time it shifts the computer will sense a hard shift and retard timing/fuel untill the level comes down, than it will shift to the next gear..
As for hurting it, no it wont (actually makes it a little stronger/less slipping of the clutches) so get it installed and reprogram the pcm.

ps i see you have the predator tuner, i think that can remove the torque management.
