Depends on the person. For the street I would take a M6 over an A4 any day. If you are a track *****/ street hustler, I would certainly suggest a stalled A4!

I'd personally like to have a manual, but I couldn't find one with the options I liked, so I settled for an auto. Still been good to me though, but that mainly drag racing talking....

If you don't want the hassle of changing gears all the time and you don't have to deal with alot of traffic get an auto, but the six speed will get you a little better gas mileage, and increase the fun to drive factor by 10.

what everyone siad here is pretty true, i love my m6 but my racing bird is to be a stalled A4
to reiterate a said "automatic is faster" comment, a *stalled* auto is faster, stock for mostly stock
i think the only case where auto si faster than m6 complete stock for stock, is somone who is new to the stick, or otherwise inexperienced

Agreed. Buy what YOU like to drive. If you like rowing through gears, then go with the M6. If you're like me and don't like manuals, then get the A4. We could debate the whole drag racing consistency thing, but that doesn't concern your situation.
Whatever route you go, be sure to enjoy the car!

It is a proven fact that a manual trans loses less power than an auto (depending on what has been done to each). If this wasn't true, why do most heads-up classes add extra weight (anywhere from 50-150 lbs.) to a car running a manual transmission versus an automatic trans?? It is also easier to set-up a clutch for changing track conditions (slick or sticky) versus an automatic.
Not trying to be a dick, but just my $.02, flame on!
