Default LS1 edit 01-02 for a 1999?

I won a bid on eBay for the LS1-Edit disk and programming module and have a few questions.

The seller said it was for a 2001-2002 LS1. I have a 1999 Firehawk, and I don't believe the LS1 ECU was modified from 1998 TransAm models to 2002. I believe the only changes were for suspension options, the exhaust options, and the camshaft was slightly different from 2000 to 2001 whereas the 1999 and 2002 were more aggressive. I think there were some subltle other differences.

Question 1: Will the 01-02 LS1Edit work for my 1999 Firehawk?

Question 2: Currently I'm Hypertech PPIII-tuned but the unit was stolen and I just changed to 4.10 gearing from SLP. Does LS1Edit have factory tuning bult-in and if not, where can I get 1999 Firehawk LS1Edit values so I know how Hypertech advanced the spark timing and fan on/off settings?

#1. It will not work on your 99. The only way it will work is if you get your PCM reflashed with either 01 or 02 program. I think LS1-edit is a 1 vin program. It's either 01 or 02, it can't be both.

#2 Again, your either going to have to reflash your PCM at the dealer or someone is nice enough to e-mail you a stock LS1-edit file.

I suggest you find out what year you really have for LS1-edit. You can e-mail http://www.carputing.com/ to get info on your program when you receive it. I think it's a lot of hassle, research is your friend, good luck. Here's a link to stock files http://ls1edit.slowcar.net/faq.html, I don't know if they work since I have HP tuners and not LS1-edit, but once you install LS1-edit you can try and see if will download to you laptop.

i hope you didn't pay much for it... if the seller ever used it then once of the licenses is locked to his PCM... new licenses are about 200 bux I believe (50 bux software license, 50 bux s&h, 100 for the license for 1 vin) ...

When the ebay post said "01-02" , the ls1 edit software is broken into years I believe... but it won't work on your 99 if it's only for 01 and 02s... unless as mentioned you reflash it to a 01/02 ... but I'd verify the cable has a license on it (an open license) ...

As said ls1edit is very specific in the year of the car and licensing. And chances are it is not an open license(very expensive) for individual use, more practical for professional tuning.
