Dropping M6 tranny
Got all 8 bolts off the bellhousing, but that %@cker doesn't want to come off! Prying from the slot on the bottom moves the bottom out but it seems it's binding in several spots.
Is there anything else to this or should I commence the beatings?
Oh, and that top right bolt from the tranny took FM to get off... nothing like trying to feed a socket onto a bolt from 3 feet away!

torque arm, exhaust, driveshaft, cross member (with tranny mount)
(shifter/console...not sure if they are required to remove though)
if those are all clear.. then it'd only be bolts left in the bell housing
i could've sworn my 4L60e had 10 or 12 bolts..
you should be able to see where it's catching though

When we did Nate's we pulled the tranny and left the bell attached to the motor then took the bell off seperately. Seemed a lot easier that way to me on those cars. Good luck.

That's what I did.. transmission is already out and dollied out of the way... but I might corner it and beat it anyway! Going to take a quick look-see at the syncro cones and see if the Ellis touch may be needed...
I'll try the clutch trick.. not sure how it would help the bellhousing (if it were cinched or caught I'd have a lot bigger issues than removing a metal shroud! fyi - still on engine around flywheel, i unbolted transmission from bellhousing to drop it) thanks for the suggestion!
