Going to test drive a 00 T/A
Tomorrow I'm going to test drive another T/A. This one is a 2000 black, non ram air, leather, M6 with 29k miles. They are asking 16k for it and the salesman says he will work a couple hundred dollars here and there, so maybe around 15,5. It has had only one owner and the salesman says it drives very well and has been taken care of very well too. What do you guys think? Hopefully this will be the one. Wish me luck.

Oh BTW, I know I want a ram-air, well atleas the hood, would it be better to wait, which I've been doing for almost a year, for a true Ram-air and try to pay around 16-17g or just get the non Ram-air and put on the hood later? I think they go for around $800, right?

If you want the ram air (who doesn't) and it's not considerably less than one with ram air, then I wouldn't get it. You have the ram air hood which is near $1000, plus you need some 17" wheels and tires, which is another $1,000-2,000+ That's basically the upgrades besides the suspension, so if you can't find a regular t/a for less than 3-4k less than a ws6 with basically the same options/condition/mileage, I wouldn't get it. Good luck!

If it drives perfect and is clean in and out Id offer him $15,000 take it or leave it, if he says $15,500 tell him you cant do it. Just walk out and see if trys to catch you out the door. If he doesnt, just come back in 30 minutes and Im sure $15,250 would buy it.
You can get a fiberglass ram air hood from VFN for under $500. Most people replace a lot of the factory parts anyways like, air lid, exhaust, shifter, springs/shocks, wheels etc. In the end youll save money buying a non-WS6 T/A just like I did.

That's a high price, then again that is REALLY low mileage, you're going to have to pay alot of more if you want ram air hood and new rims though, think about that. Better to pay 1000 more upfront, then 2-3k more later.

777 - I understand what you're saying, I used the same logic. However, most of the WS6's I've found don't have similar mileage or price. They're usually a couple grand more and that's with 45K+ miles.
98 LS Won - How is the fitment of your aftermarket hood? I guess you don't regret not getting a Ram Air from the factory, correct?
My other concern is getting stuck with the crappy rims for a regular TA. If the price is right, however, I'll just deal. But I know I'll kinda regret it because all of my mod money will go to performance stuff and not rims. Maybe it'll add to the sleeper (somewhat) effect haha.

It will be hard to find a WS6 with that little miles for only $2,000 more imo. Like I said, my new hood, wheels/tires only cost $1,500. I then got a $100 lid, $35 cutout, $150 springs, $150 shocks, $150 SFC, $200 LCA/relocation brakets. That puts me at a total of $2,285 and I have a car that is faster, handles better and looks better compared to a WS6.
