An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1, they are all the same (despite the different HP ratings published/advertised)
How about some pics of the new ride

ASR - acceleration slip regulation... it's traction control

That's ASR, or traction control. Obviously if you're gonna run at the strip then you want that off.

You came to the right place.

If the department there did what they have here, (providing they didn't return it to stock!) it will easily outrun a Corvette. Several of the Interceptor's have taken on modded Corvettes and a couple of Vipers here and caught them easily. If you want to know more, ask the police station that it came from.

If you mean that the ASR comes on automatically every time you start the car, that's correct. Just hit the button again. There's also a kit out there that sets the ASR to off on engine start, if you're that pestered by it.

Leave it on until you want to do something fun/stupid. Why handicap yourself while you're still learning how to drive the car by taking away its best safety feature?

yeah the interceptor packages are faster than stock, but the PD's have a bad habit of taking all the good **** out and returning them to stock. sometimes you get lucky though.

I have a buddy who got a b4c camaro (cop car) and w/ALL the stock trim, it retained the tuning they use he ran a 13.0 in it, so i'd venture to say they are faster than most packages available on the f-body, or his may have been a freak, but the tuning was different

The B4C cars are no different. When active police cars, they are low to mid 14 second cars due to all the weight of the equipment.

The button that is beside the ASR button is not defrost, it is for the fog lights

The defrost should be on the climate control console.

Yes, the cop cars have the same power as an SS, as do Z28's. They're rated at 305, but as you'll already been told (in not so many words), make closer to 350hp (As do all LS1's). It's doubtful that it was modified, very few police depts do mod them, and probably wouldn't take the time to return it to stock, other than taking out all the police equipment (lights, police computer, etc).

And for the record, police camaro's are B4C camaro's, there is no "Interceptor" package, that's the name for a police issue crown vic car, which like a camaro, is no different than a regular one, other than the added police equipment. (and they're slow as hell, especially weighed down by the police equipment, one here ran a 17 in the 1/4 on some barely legal drag night a couple cops joined in on for fun. )

For the ASR, when you first start the car, it is automatically on, press the button to turn it off. When it's off, there's a light in the dash that tells you it's off.

Well I guess the cops in my area are alot more into modding than the rest. The interceptor's for the state troopers have some quick cars. There's not many Corvette's on the road that can outrun them. Believe me, I've heard the stories from the guys who got caught.
