I am currently in the process of having a new motor built at FMS. I really didn't plan on it, but I'm getting a lot of smoke after I let off accel and I guess it's to be expected at 110k miles. My transmission has no 3rd and 5th gear, barely has reverse, and my Spec stage III sticks to the floor everytime i push it in, so I'm having everything done at once.

Motor will be a forged 346 using my current Absolute Speed heads and a littel bigger cam. I really don't have a goal with it, since I need it more than I planned on doing it. I'm sure I'll be happy with how it turns out.

My goal was to have a powerful, better than average, but overall reliable DD car. I went with a 408 since they have gotten pretty cheap lately and it was the most cost effective place to start from for future upgrades.

383 stroker pump gas daily driver with a pro-stock sound..hence the 242/250 .595/.595 109 cam.

Till its all said and done you will shell out close to $8k to do it right for the motor and then there are the nice accessories..like k-member, headers etc...that will push the price up...

A semi-daily driver with lots of available TQ and could lift the front wheels of the ground.

Money wise, I would probably go a cheaper route next time.
