how hard is it to find a 98 or 99 z28 m6 with no power options and hardtop. ive been lookin for a while and its like every single one comes with T-tops and full power. should i just give up and get a hardtop with power options, ive seen a few of them around.
btw: i heard if you get a hardtop with no power anything, you will be like 200-300 lbs lighter then a car with full options, is this true?

the 200-300 lbs being lighter is horse crap
at MAX you would be 150 lbs lighter vs a loaded down T top Z28
just get a hardtop you will be glad you did. im about 75-100 lbs lighter than my friends Z28 t top. Hardtop cars hook tons better than t top cars also. just get any hardtop LS1...

Look for a B4C or Police car. The Police Departments are pretty good on keeping them maintained. Keep an eye out for the Dallas Police Dept. They have seven 1999 Z28 hardtops. They have a somewhat type of roll cage, no passenger seat and no back seat. They are black and white. I've driven one and I'll let you know what their plans are..... the one I saw last month only had 50K miles on it, I don't know how long they intend on keeping them

ya i thought that 300lbs thing was kinda out there. though if you save 150lbs that would still be pretty decent.
also one with no options would sell for less since most people like all the power stuff right?

My car weighed 3557 woth me in it and nothing taken out of it. I weight about 200 lbs so it's lighter by maybe 150 lbs. No power anything. Not a B4C even. No 1LE options at all. It may be one of the lightest stock ones you can find. SO, it's about 3350 or so I think full option cars weigh in about 3450-3500. convertables alot higher for all their stuff.

They say every 100 lbs you shave off is worth a tenth at the track so that always helps. I got mine because it was a good price (probably because there were no options ). Its also nice to have something a little different with less to worry about since most fbodies have power everything standard.
