Default what now?

i did the heads/cam intake project.
ordered a custom ecm (car ran so bad, no choice)
here is the specs for what was changed.
ported 5.3 heads
comp cam 220 @50 scorpin 1.8 rockers
lsx 90 mm intake and tb.
asp underdrive pully
custom ecm

with the custom ecm the cars runs worlds better, still like $$$$ though.
still have a check engine light. (told, everything was turned off)

engine is not happy idling. makes lots of valve train noise. (can't tell if that's normal or not) some are sewing machine, some are lower pitch..

with everything i had to change, (car is a 98) not sure where to begin the problem solving steps...

here is what i started with..
98 camaroSS. m6 9500.00 miles
atr cat back, supermaxx headers w/ cats

car ran fine 'till i screwed with it. in it's current state, it's not driveable..

any advice???

Are there any ls1edit/hp tuner shops in your area to give you a custom tune? I helped my buddy install his cam and heads and there were so many things we had to go back and check such as if the cam was degreed right, proper pushrod length, etc, etc...It could simply be that even with the custom ecu its not tuned right. Id see if there are any shops in your area that could do a real tune for you as that would help out a ton I think. When we finished my buddies car it ran like absolute ***, then we had it towed to East Side Performance for a dynotune and when he got it back ti ran perfect. Again it could be that the ECU isnt tuned right or that the ECU was tuned right and you made a mistake in your install. You will have more valvetrain noise with an aftermarket cam and heads (sewing machine noise) but it should be too loud and your car should def not idle rough, especially since you dont have that big of a cam. Maybe someone else can chime in and help out further but without being able to hear/see the car its tough pinpointing the problem.
