ok, i have chrome SS factory 10 spoke wheels, and they have dirt and rode grime( best way to describe it) that doesnt come off with just soap and water....can any1 please tell me a product i can use that will get this **** off???

Also, is there any type of pre-wax i should use before i use my meguiars wax on my car??? ihave some swirl marks and scratches in many areas and i want to get rid of em......

I use windex on my chrome wheels. I just make sure after washing that I dry my wheels first before they have time to dry and leave spots.

NEVER-DULL!!!!! its in a small silver can. this stuff is the best ive seen on any polished or chrome wheels or anything shiny, for that matter-it will be shiny-er after you use this. its very in-expensive and lasts a LONG time. i recomend this very strongly. hope it helps!

i'd never use neverdull on chrome, just aluminum.

im an avid fan of steel wool (000 or 0000) on chrome, it doesnt hurt it, and makes them look badass. then you can follow up with some chrome polish.
after that, maintain them...

Since using Mother's Chrome Polish I dont really have to "clean" my wheels as much as I used too. Just take a rag to 'em, and wipe them down. Thats it. If I want to make it shine a bit more tho, I'll use a bit of windex.

As for the swirl removers, there's quite a few products out there that'll do the job. Zaino 's one option out there. But you might have to go a different route than just a swirl remover if you want to really get rid of some of those scratches (depending upon how bad they are.)

does meguiars make a product??? could you please go in detail as to how i would go about detailing my car. All i do is wash, dry off, use meguiars spray detailer, and then use the meg wax.

dont use aluminum polish or anythign like that on chrome!
people listen.
its chrome wheels, not aluminum.

use the steel wool that will get the crap out.
aluminum polish isnt going to do **** but hurt the chrome.

Grab a box of Mr Clean Magic Eraser and give em' a whirl. Good for touch ups. You could use them to completely clean (amazing little sponges they are) but you'd get maybe one use out of it. They are like 2$+ for a pack of 2.

I wax my rims, then use the Erasers between to get spots off.

autozone will have it
be sure and get 000 or 0000 ( the more 0's the finer it is)
0000 with a little water should do it, and you really dont need that..

If you want to get that grime off the wheels thats sticks their use chrome polish and rub it in, it should come out (I use mothers). Then after thats gone and when your washing your car and just want to get the brake dust and dirt off just use any chrome wheel cleaner. I just use eagle one all wheel cleaner. It does the job to get the wheels clean again

Last time I went to Auto Zone and asked for it, they looked at me like I was out of my mind... Found some at Kroger though, it's like a $1
And guys, he's right, do NOT use aluminum polish on chrome.

homedepot/lowes has steel wool. it is mostly used for staining wood. I use turtlewax (i know if all things) chrome polish. I do not even have to wash my wheels and this takes it off. it is the best chrome polish i have ever tried. i would have never bought it had the autozone i first went to was out of everything but the turtlewax. I have since tried other stuff and always reverted back to the turtlewax chrome polish

any chrome wheel cleaner avail at Wallymart, Advance Auto, Autozone, will help cut the crud, just need a scrub brush and 30 seconds of work per wheel.

I use Zaino wax on the wheels when done cleaning, really helps keep dust off.

For chrome cleaning I use a german paste from Stainless Works, a sponsor.

Wenol metal polish--it's safe for both chrome and aluminum. The orange tube for harsher jobs (road salt & tough stains), and the blue tube for regular maintenance. Since my wheels are chromed aluminum, the metal polish works great.

After the polish, I just maintain them with Eagle One Wipe N' Shine Spray Detailer. It makes them look great, and helps to keep the brake dust and dirt from sticking.

For the chrome bumpers on my truck, I occassionally use an "SOS" pad. Since they're steel, It takes the rust and other stains right off.

I used Blue Corral on my chrome rims to "polish" them up. I finish with a coat of wax. This usually keeps the rims looking good for a while with just washing and whipe downs.
