How long does it normaly take to download the pcm with LS1Edit? I have been at it for over one hour and only at 50%. Second if you downloading the pcm to the computer can you disconnect without killing the computer??

Are you reading the PCM (PCM -> Laptop), or writing the PCM (laptop -> PCM)? Either way that is way too long. It's been a while since I used LS1edit, but if I remember, it somewhere around 8~10 minutes to read and 3~5 minutes to write. Way longer than the better tuners out now. You shouldn't hurt anything just doing a read, but with LS1edit anything is possible.

Yeah I have not used it for a long time, I dont remember it taking this long. I wonder why it is. I tried to disconnect but now the fuel pump is not turning on. So I started again and it seems to be going threw the steps. but i think i will end up having to take out the pcm and getting it reflashed. BTW im doing pcm -> laptop.

I don't think you will hurt anything reading... if the car won't start just do a PCM reset... the software puts the PCM into a mode where it stops listening to other devices... so sometimes you have to manually "reboot" the PCM by resetting it (fuse or battery connection) .. should be fine then
When I used to use edit years back It would take me 15-20 mins to read, and 10+ mins to write
