Default Z28

Hi I'm new here and I've recently bought my very first a4 2000' Z28. I would like to add a few more mods to my car. So far I have a slp air lid, tuned it with the hypertech tuner, and that's about it. I also bought a 180 degree thermostat. I was thinking about adding a torque converter, l/t headers (can I put those on my car and have enough clearance?), 3.73 gears, and a high flow exhaust. What kind of numbers would my Z put out on a dyno after these mods? What does a Z28 like mine put out stock? What kind of times will I see if I take her out on a 1/4 track(modified)? Thanks.

Depends on the brand of headers i would recommend pacesetter, you might see 345 or 350 if you put a pulley on and ported you tb.

With all those mods you'de see somewhere in the neighborhood of 330RWHP. Stock however, 290-315 with the automatic transmission and a low 13 1/4 stock. Don't worry about clearance unless you plan on dropping the car in the future.

It's hard to say what you would dyno.
It depends on what type of headers, exhaust, torque converter, and everything else that you go with.

Get rid of the hypertech. Get yourself some long tube headers and a cutout. Get the torque converter (minimum 3500 stall). If you have 3.23 gears stock then don't bother with the 3.73's, the gain will be minimal once you have a converter (talking 1/10th of a second on a good day). Then get a real tune.

i have a 2000 T/a and have done exactly the mods you are talking about.. everything but the gears

stock, the dyno reported 302rwhp
with *all* the mods you've listed (they also happen to reside in my sig) i put down 291 rwhp.

the torque converter skews the results on the dyno. so, i wouldn't put much faith in those #s.. the car hauls *** though

dyno numbers mean nothing IMO, its all about how fast it can run down the 1/4

Dyno #'s are more for bragging rights when you don't have the 1/4 et to back it up...
But there are too many variables to rely on the dyno to tell you how fast your car really is...
