Something that big and organized, I'm surprised it didn't get cracked down sooner.

A ton of my friends used to go street racing in Newark and Paterson back in the day. A few got arrested in Paterson. Don't really talk to much of them anymore, that was back in high school.

If you like getting roughed up by the local PD then it may be fun...

Paterson used to be real bad as far as non-stop racing in Bunker Hill, but it has died down within the past couple of years after a single digit Turbo Regal smashed into a wall & blew up. (you can still see where it hit)
I live right next to it so this summer I could tell it was picking up big time. Ive gone on nights where the cops sit and block the entire area off to keep non-racers out if that makes any sence.

Yeah, the papers said spectators were issued citations for "encouraging drag racing". But it was out of hand up there from what everyone said. Racers not moving for other cars or trucks, people leaving bottles and garbage everywhere, big crowds and a big mess. The cops said a lot of cars confiscated were modded Civics.

Pretty damn stupid considering between Etown and Atco you could race pretty much any day of the week.

This is a good thing. I went to Ave. P years ago with a friend (we weren't racing, just wanted to see what it was about). What a clusterf**k!!!!! We hung out for about an hour and I couldn't believe nobody died. People were being SO stupid. Flying back on the return after racing, flying through crowds, doing burnouts and donuts right next to spectators who were not really expecting it, random people running accross the track, crossing lanes, yada yada.

Cops should have done that years ago.

That's what I always say... plus you forgot Island. Three tracks in this small state, people shouldn't have to ever street race. But what do I know.

If you guys have the tracks, that are actually open more then once a week then you don't have to race on the street. Outside of the street racing, burnouts and showing off are really what make the gathers on streets fun and youthful, they don't cost like the ice cream stands and food joints like old men hit up with cars that never see the track (not complaining, love those spots and talking with those guys). Every once in a while its nice to get involved with that scene and chill out, yes there is a difference when you got people running across the street and idiots that don't know how to control a car losing it in front a crowd, but if it is a long time gathering spot those idiots always get there nonsense condensed upon showing up. It sucks that some (132) kids got their cars impounded and really sucks if some F-bodys are in the mix.
