408 Iron block.... need head bolts! Help?
In the process of swapping parts over from an LS1 to a 6.0L iron block it became very apparent that the ARP head bolts used on the LS1 are WAY too long for this iron block. Does anyone happen to have the part number for GM factory head bolts handy for the LQ4/LQ9 variety block? I'm not having any luck locating it online tonight.
Thank you in advance!

I would call ARP tomorrow and check on this. I used ARP head bolts on my 6.0 LQ4 engine and they worked fine. I do believe that some production years had some bolts that were of a different length. I know that my engine has four short bolts that go in the upper corners of each bank as I recall.

My plan was to have all the part numbers handy so I could order them bright & early in the morning. Everything else needed for the swap is laying in the shop waiting... this totally caught me by surprise. It's always something though. I may need to look around for vendors who sell truck parts.... hmm.

yeah i was shocked the first time I took a set of heads off. they were like you need new head bolts. I was like WTF. I have reused them before in a 1st gen and in a 3rd gen. but these headbolts stretch. kinda wierd but you got to love enginneers. they couldnt just make a part you could reuse over and over and over again. they would be out of a job. haha

I notice the list price on that is $20.34... do you happen to know exactly how many & which bolts that includes? Today I ordered 20 PN# 11519772 - LS2 head bolts (10 per head) - and 10 PN# 12558840 (smaller "top row" bolts, 5 per head). This made a complete "kit" of bolts, but at a $70 price tag. Not that it matters now... but to add info to this thread for anyone who may search for it in the future.
