Default Time To Be A Good Girl

Well I went to court this morning for a speeding ticket that I got about a month ago..... I was not able to take defensive driving since I was going 80 in a 50 ....end result Deferred Judification (sp?) I have to be good for 6 months (thats a long *ss time).
The last time I was on this crap it was only for 90 days.
Well wish me luck

lol is that the ticket I saw

I got pulled over on my way to UT orientation and got a ticket in fayette county. and its been less than a year since I had taken DD last so had to do def. jud. I was lucky though cause it only meant I couldnt get another ticket in fayette and so I just drive exactly the speed limit through there when I drive Austin/Houston

you pay court cost and after the time limit is up and no problems it goes away. *poof* Like it never happened.

Yep, just pay a bunch of money and the ticket goes away. Its an easy check for the court. Gotta love government greed

Based solely on the title alone, this thread is lame...
I got a parking ticket on campus a week ago . I feel your pain.

Speeding tickets are nothing. Never get caught street racing. They tow your car and you spend a day or two in jail. Then after you find someone to bail you out, you go to court and spend a fortune. It cost me over a grand after it was all over and now im on deferred for 6 months. Talking about being paranoid all the time.

so what does this deferred actually mean?
you have to be good for so long, or you have to go to a parrol officer, etc?

just dont get a ticket (maybe just moving violation?) within the time and the previous ticket will go away. If you do get a ticket I think you have to deal with both of them and you cant just take deff. again, you have to pay them and be guilty or something

I think each county/district has its own variation of it too,
you have to pay the fine for the ticket though, which may be outrageous, and you have to decide if you can drive more conservatively, which can be hard to keep up.

I still think defensive driving is the best option if its available, but you always have to consider if you get another ticket before a year you cant use that option again...
and the "advanced" def. driving classes are nice

and I think you would have to pay court costs in both deff. jud. and if you took def. driving so that isnt really a factor, but sucks anyway

Unhappy

I got another one 3 days after my deferred one went off the record (6 months)....The ****** passed my brother (who was right behind me...had to cut him off to pull me over) to get me. says i was doing like 15 over (or something like that...cant remember exactly) the speed limit on the feeder to 59 from 1960 ???? My brother said we we'rnt traveling near that fast, maybe the judge will make it right?? Maybe it LOOKED fast....'cause it sure as hell ISN'T fast.

Good luck with YOUR 6 months....as you can see I BEARLY made it.
