I was told you could delete it using hp tuners. If this is true, will it get rid of my problem of having the security light come on all the time? Also if I get it deleted will I just be able to get a regular key cut for the ignition and have it work? Thanks for the help.

Yes, it will solve the security light issue, and if the key is the right size and cut, then it will not look for the resistor either.
