Default Guys running 4 Inch down pipes...

Just curious if you were familiar with a company that makes catylitic converter shells that fit over 4 inch piping?

Im just worried that they might give me **** for not having cats.

I just need to pass visual, not the sniffer.

Allan moved the muffler towards the middle to make it look like thats the cat, but im not sure if it will fool them.

anyone have any experience with this?

Are you going to run the 4inch pipe all the way back.On mine I have a 4inch DP that necks down to 3inch by the tranny. If you did that you could have the converter over then 3inch pipe.

or if you wanted to fool em, you could get a 4" bullet and put it up towards the front of hte car, that could possibly fool em

i dont have to pass emissions, but i was thinking if i ever have to then i was going to do what 69firebird said, i have a bullet muffler 4" near the front, then it will go towards the rear tire, then neck down to 3" around the rear axel into a cat back, on race day the cat back will get removed and it will be a 4" exhaust to the rear tire with a turn id just say my bullet is a cat, not sure if it would work

Another option is to have a smaller, emissions compliant DP w/ a cat and exhaust come time for inspection. It won't take all that much time to get it "ready" for inspection/emissions. I do it every year.

Good luck

if you have all the exhaust connections with Vbands like i do you can easily swap out sections, and have like an emissions section where it tapers down to a 3" cat, then when your done with that, put in a 4" section back

from what i know, allan just ran 4 inch piping all the way back out the passenger side. he said it would have been too close to the fuel stuff to split it up to dual 3 inch pipes, or something like that.
