Default Woohoo, motor is out! Need specifics for new motor.

The motor is the last thing I had left to build, so I'm a bit behind on what's the latest and greatest parts out there for a motor build up. Plus I have very little time now to research and figure out what's the best parts to use for my new motor. So what I'm wanting to know is each specific parts I need to use for my motor. Here is what I'm wanting to know:

Heads
Cam
Valves
Pistons/rings
Connecting rods
Crank
Block
Oil pan
Gaskets
Bolts
New valve springs or reuse my practically new Patriot Dual spring kit
New pushrods or reuse my Comp hardened chromoly stock length pushrods
New oil pump or reuse my practically new Thunder Racing ported/blueprinted oil pump
New timing set or reuse my practically new Rollmaster double roller heat treated timing set with Torrington bearing
New rod bolts or reuse my practically new Katech rod bolts

...and anything else that I have left out.

Any help I'd greatly appreciate! Thanks!

LS2 based 408 stroker motor as a shortblock
use some nice diamond high compression pistons
E.T. Performance 11* heads
solid roller
Canton oil pan
Edelbrock Victor Jr. Intake
Accufab 4150 style TB
NOS plate system

I think that'd be fun to build

Aren't the LS2's a 402, cuz they can't be bored .030 over.

The ET Performance heads are a good choice, i'd go with JE pistons over the diamond, from looking at both, the JE are a much better and stronger piston than the diamonds! Everything else is up too what exactly you want too do with the car and if you want too street drive it or not, if not, i'd go huge solid roller, 90/90 intake/tb combo, or a custom intake setup that'll flow even better if you got the money, and too be honest i'd talk with Allan at FMS about the cam, he makes killer setups!!!! He'd be able too steer you in the right direction if you tell him what kind of times ur lookin for and he'll get you there!

This guy never ceases to amaze me.. How does he get through the day? Where does he ask "What should I have for breakfast?, "Should I shave every day or every other day?" "What pants should I wear?"
Has he not learned anything in his last 4000+ posts

no flames intended

spending that much money i would want to ask (or research) what is good. when i go to buy something i research it, that narrows it down, then i check around on here as to what people are having problems with. that usually gets me sold. he just needs a little confidence in his decisions. he posts in these forumns asking the "Gods" for help. that is what these places are for. i do see him asking a lot, but he seems to do everything in stages instead of all at once. big deal. just answer the mans question. he is a fellow DIY'er. give him some credit. he just whats to know if he forgot anything on his list.

as for specifics. i have been researching and i want to go with a procharger D1SC one of these days, so i would go with a 408 iron for durability. it all depends on your setup. n/a, nos, fi these will be key factors in your decision. also if n/a solid roller setup would be freakin nice. good luck

I'm kinda leaning towards a LS2 with a 4" crank (402 ci). If I did that, what all am I going to need for the build/conversion? Is everything interchangable? What brands of rotating assembly would I use? Also, I forgot to mention, but what about lifters and rocker arms? I'd like to upgrade there as well.

look in the ls2/ls7 forum there are TONS of threads reguarding this.
Take a few minutes and search around and look at different setups.
Set some goals, and go from there.
Honestly, no flame intended, but you'll ask for opinions and receive them, then go off on a wild hair and not heed that advice.

Heads - ET 11* stuff
Cam - solid roller depending on budget, specs dependant on what you plan to do with the car
Valves what ET suggests
Pistons/rings Weisco, Diamond, JE, Mahle, hell whatever you want. Rings, again, dependant on what you plan on doing
Connecting rods - how much do you want to spend, Scat, Callies, Crower all make nice rods, Lunati, etc..
Crank - how much power do you want to make or plan to make, and how much do you want to spend..... callies, eagle, lunati, etc
Block - GM LS2 alum or Iron block, I'd go iron...
Oil pan - stock? why spend money on a canton....
Gaskets - cometic, gm mls, etc
Bolts - arp....... any questions?
New valve springs or reuse my practically new Patriot Dual spring kit.. sell 'em to me dirt cheap. use what come on et heads.
New pushrods or reuse my Comp hardened chromoly stock length pushrods, longer or whatever for ET heads.
New oil pump or reuse my practically new Thunder Racing - take apart and inspect, use it if perfect. If your other motor went south, get a new one. They are cheap.
New timing set or reuse my practically new Rollmaster double roller heat treated timing set with Torrington bearing... use it.
New rod bolts or reuse my practically new Katech rod bolts - ha, use what come with the rods you get, or what your engine builder uses.
