Default ET Streets or BFG Drag Radials????

This has probably been covered numerous times but Ill ask again.

Which tire do you guys recommend for street racing/strip use? I know the ET is going to cut better 60s, but I doubt its drivability on the streets...The BFG is perfect for the street, but I doubt im breaking 1.5s with it. What would you go with? btw, this is for a 02 z06.

I have ET street drag radials. Have 1100 miles on them plus 78 1/4 mile passes. wore down to wear bars at 800 miles and 50+ passes. Good for dry weather but entertaining if you attempt to drive in wet weather. Still have a little tread pattern left but hook 1.6's 1.7's on stock suspension. these are 17's

so you do drive these on the street??? How bad are they in the rain? I heard that these allow more sidewall flex then the bfg's thus making it easier on the rear/tranny.

I always thought f bodies cut better 60s then vettes?? Guys have been cutting 1.4s all day on et streets with y bodies

IMO, bad enough not to recommend them to someone who drives tehir car everyday. They are absolutely perfect if you drive the car everynow and then though, or if you want a tire that you can drive to the track andback.

The problem with them is that they are just terrible in the rain. Granted, many people out there drive them everyday (rain or shine) with no problems, but I would still recommend something else for a daily driver.

If they will be your only tires (driving in the rain/weather).. I don't recommend either one.

Go for some Nitto's.

My personal experiece is that a Mickey Thompson drag radial will hook better then a Mickey Thompson ET Street. I have gotten 1.3x 60ft with both though.

part of why i use them daily is just being to lazy to change back to my street tires after the track........just like everyone has said, driving in the rain is very entertaining with no traction. I do it but very slowly.

My room-mate has BFG's on his car but then again its a garage queen.

My 60' is still pretty crappy but suspension wise all i have is a bmr adj tq arm set at -2 angle (compromise between daily driving and track), Comp engineering drag shocks set at 70/30......everything else is stock so havent been able to get any better than 1.6 or 1.7's with this heavy vert. I know people are running quiker 60's on these tires but then again I'm running 17's with an extra set of LE rims for sleeper mode.
