Default Ram Air Hoods at high speeds? 170+MPH

Currently I have the suncoast creations predator hood and I really like it.. but in the new build the car may see speeds of 180mph at the track...

Whats the consensus of ram air hoods w/scoops and very high speeds?

off topic but what does that hood weigh?

i think that hood is more streamline then the ws6.
havent heard any reports of people going that fast on that hood, though harlan went over 170 with his firehawk hood, and the ohio boys have done 180 with their old sytle raim air hood

you planning on a short burst or a long run?

The hood weighs about 25 lbs or so.. its very easy to move by myself..

The car will be fed by an air/water intercooled turbo. It is highly unlikely that the ram air scoops will do anything other than help cool off the engine bay.

This is for 1/4 mile passes.

Harlan has a Firehawk hood and has gone like 170mph, seems like it's okay.

could you really build any kind of boost (even 1-2 psi!) at this speed with a true ram air?

My hood and airpan set up is worth 3 mph.. Now it isnt a Ram Air. Its a cowl set up with a front hole. If I wasnt using the ram air part them I would at least glass ove the holes and smooth them.

Thought I heard a guy on TV (Speed Channel) say the IROC guys tested the ram air hoods and they disintegrated at speeds over 184mph. FWIW
