Default Who fabricates turbo manifolds?

Looking for someone to fabricate a pair of turbo manifolds (LS6) Anyone have any recommendations?

Talked to Nick at Turbo Technology Inc in Tacoma, Washington about a set of their cast turbo manifolds for a C5 LS1/6. They want $1500.00 for the pair. Real beauties, though, aren't they?

There's gotta be someone out there who can do them for less. Any ideas?

The sad truth is that you probably aren't going to find a better price than what you got there for premade manifolds. Cast are arguably the best kind of turbo manifold to run for durability and efficiency sake. I did some calling around awhile back in search of true stainless turbo headers and I got quotes anywhere from $1500 up to the 3Ks.

Damn dude, cast turbo manifolds for $1,500 I would jump on that.

My FLP headers and y-pipe was $1,200. They came with straight thru's but I had to pad another $200 for cats.

When you think of the micro demand for turbo headers $1,500 is a damn good deal.

You'll spend half that on merge collectors if you decide to use them to make the headers.

Cheap and Custom don't belong in the same sentance

You can spend $1500 for a great set of cast manifolds that will clock the turbo's correctly and last forever....think about what it would be worth to never take a manifold off to reweld a crack....they're worth $1500 just for the mounting strength.

those ones also place the turbos above the oil level so you dont need a scavenge pump.
they are designed pretty well.

If you were to use the manifolds above reversed could you route them around the A/C? I was just wondering since they point down as opposed to forward.

That's true, but this guy I know on my web site just pointed out that the manifolds I mentioned are internally threaded on the turbo flange meaning there's no hole all the way through to put a nut in place to hold the turbo in place.

Over time, that means I could strip those threads and end up with $1500 worth of useless junk. That's making me think I should continue searching. Basically I want to build my own homebrew turbo kit. I never drive my Z06, so I have all the time in the world to do it.

cast manifolds plus stainless steel hardware plus a healthy coat of antisieze and carefully installing the bolts by hand before you wrench on them = long trouble free service, clean looks, proper turbo location and fewer exhaust leaks to deal with!

Just use studs in the manifolds then you never have to remove or worry about stripping them out. You can always double nut the turbos in place as well.

Never thought about that. It would solve the worry about stripping the threads, though. Good point.

Pro Turbo Systems offers all the hot-side parts in a prefabbed twin turbo kit for C5s for $2,199.99 - that's another possible starting point for this TT kit I want to build.

Yes. You don't loose the AC to answer an earlier question.

I wish us Corvette owners were so lucky.

I have decided to ***** out my personal web space to help raise money for the twin turbo setup I want. Yeah, sad isn't it? But hey, it worked for that dude with milliondollarhomepage, so maybe it'll work for me.

I heard some LS1 owners are using 6.0 liter GM truck exhaust manifolds to build junkyard turbo kits.

Anybody have any info on this? I've got a line on some of these manifolds for less than $100 for the pair.
