help me decide on headers... and a cam of course :)
I've purchased a set of LS6 casting heads with a "stage 2" port job..I don't have the flow bench sheet and can't find the thread that I bought them in, but I remember the owner making over 400rwhp with a relatively small cam and headers. They have also been milled .030". I'm currently at 330rwhp with basically just catback and CAI.
Now, to my question...I want to do heads/headers/cam all at once so I don't have to pull this thing apart twice. I've already got the heads obviously but I'm not sure which cam to get. I was originally thinking about the G5X3 (flycutting the pistons doesn't bother me) but have since looked at the F13 and some other choices on this board. I also need a set of longtubes but really don't want the $1000+ LG's when I'm sure another (cheaper) brand will get me to my goal of 425rwhp. A local guy is great at tuning LSx's so that's not a problem and I'll get a true complete dyno tune done.
So, suggestions on cheaper headers and a cam would be great...I drive the car often but being only 21 years old and having owned several big cam'd and or supercharged cars, the lope doesn't bother me.
Thanks.
edit: forgot to mention the heads have comp 918 springs which are rated to .600" lift if I remember correctly. I can go to dual springs if needed but for now would like to use these if possible. Thanks again guys.

Another cam I'm looking at is this:
TSP-233/239 v.2
Duration @ .050.......233/239* (i/e)
Advertised duration...282/288*
Lobe Lift..................0.352/0.355"
gross valve lift..........0.598/0.603"
Lobe seperation........113*
advance ground in.....1*
but I haven't found any dyno results yet...I'll look thru the cam thread

If you have $$
Then QTP's all the way (Headers)
Cheaper (Kooks)
Budget (Pacesetters)
Cam 224/228 (try not to flycut) or better yet get a custom cam. That .030 mill is reducing your cam size big time.

Thanks for the reply
I forgot to mention these are going in a '99 C5. I don't mind flycutting so the heads are limiting me *too* much...but if I can accomplish my goals without flycutting then that'd be great too.
M6, original gears...I think that's 3.23 or 3.42...something like that?

I'll look into the jethot ones..I'm not sure what all brands there are for C5's (thats why I was asking lol)
Most ppl [with too much money] over on corvetteforum are using LG headers--but they're like $1500+ with cats. Sure, theyre the best header out there but it's really not worth twice the cost for the extra few HP you'll get out of most of the cars they're on. For an all out race car/high displacement/FI situation I could see the big advantage--but not for a 400hp stock displacement

Expect at least 750>800 on a set of headers. Otherwise don't bother, you'll end up spending twice.
Gotta count ~1200 with cats, that is what it costs to drive a Vette.
Look for a used set and refinish them if you do not have $$, otherwise save.
