Default Plugs & Cutouts

Hey Gents,
What plug do you reccomend. Is the irridium worth it? What special tools do I need for aplug change?
I want to put a cutout on, I have the 3" Y- pipe & CTR. mount exaust fro SLP. Do I need the 2.75" or the 3" cut out.

Thanks!

Rich

NGK TR55
Getting to the hard to reach ones is best done from under the car.
3" cutout fits on your 2.75" I-pipe, in the well/niche/void under the passenger seat.

My SLP CME I-pipe is 3" diameter (like 3-1/8" OD). It
crushes down at the Y-I union to conform to standard
Y diameter.

Here's my installation:

#8 plug is the bitch, most have to do it from below
(unless you've gor arms like a spider monkey). Headers
change that (my Jet-Hots leave no access from below
but seem to have opened up room from above, slightly).
Getting a gear wrench & stubby socket or a flex-head
ratchet may help you out.

Default Plugs & Cutout

Thanks for responding. I installed center mount exaust & a 3" Y-pipe myself. I could not remember if that kit included a larger I pipe. Short of calling SLP, do you know if that comes with a I pipe? You stated that I would need the 3" cutout, and I am only asking this because I want to order the right size.

3" is fine.
Even if the SLP CME, is in fact, a complete catback, as mentinoed above, 3" is still fine to weld in place.

Thanks again!
as I get deeper into this thing it snowballs! I am wanting to put a header, cam combo together. Should I use the stock heads and modify them, or go aftermarket? My goal is: 450h.p. It is not a daily driver. I was thinking 224/234 comp. cam. If I go with L.T. headers can I modify the 3" Y-pipe, or do I have to purchase a new one?

Thanks!
