Just curious how to remove the factory side moldings on my Z, without fu$%ing the paint or bosy panels up. I have adhesive remover,and would buf out the paint after, just wanna know the best waY TO peel offf the side moldings

I used a hair dryer/ heat lamp to take mine off. Just heat it up and peel the molding off, the sticky residue can be removed using some elbow greese or something like paint thinner/adhesive remover.

yeah i just did mine in the florida august heat and slowly peeled them back. i got the most glue off by pulling them straight back and doing it very slowly. then i just used bug and tar remover and an old tshirt to get the rest of the glue off.

i would say definatly dont do it when the body is cold that could lead to trouble

my buddy just ripped them off at a steady pace and then rolled the adhesive back...this was in the dead of winter and at night so it shouldnt be a problem...didnt hurt the paint at all

Yep, I just pulled mine off about a half hour ago. It's about 65 degrees here, and it was dusk/night.

I heated it up with a hair dryer to get it started easily, then I just pulled it right off. I then rolled the glue with my thumb/fingers until I got a blister lol. I got most of it off, but I need to either get some adhesive remover or just a bit more elbow grease to get some of the tiny strands left behind.

I used a hair dryer to heat it up and used 30lb test fishing line to take of the moldings. Just used an up and down motion like a saw and they fall right off. hint. wear mech gloves it helps alot with rolling the sticky sh*t off the doors. no blisters

I did it on mine recently. Very easy to do, just used floss to get it started and then peeled back. The glue just gets balled up and you can use almost anything to get the remains off. There is no sign of fading on mine, and it looks awesome.

no sing of fading and you have a red car right ? and it is a 2000 so mine should be ifne. I think i am goint ot take mine off today if i have to courage. I just would like to see some more pictures of it on and off. Does anyone have any photos they can post up for us guys who are not sure about doing it ?
