Default SDPC LS2 402 Project Dyno Numbers

Well guys it has been in the works for quite some time. I have been working on a LS2 402 for my bird. We worked closely with many people to design each part to the whole. So first I wanted to say thanks to all those people.

Kris Jones@SDPC - All the assembly and shortblock. (plus all those misc parts)
Chris Straub - Cam Design and valve train design
Tony@AFR - FAST 90 intake portmatch/porting
Louis@LGMotorsports - AFR 225 heads
Jason Durham - all that other fun stuff

This project has been in the works for since about august. Below are the results of the engine dyno.

Mike,
Thanks. You and Kris were great to work with. How is the idle characteristics? How is throttle response?

Not in the car just yet. Have to buy the transmission for it now. I expect it to be ready in about 1-1.5 months. The wait is killing me

That is wicked torque... cant wait to launch it at the track Chris you were great!!!!

Kris mentioned that it pulled hard all the way. I believe they have the idle set at 900 rpm. I didnt get much more in the way of characteristics. Maybe he can chime in

Compression is 11.5:1. I dont know the cam specs. Chris Straub worked with SDPC and we flowed the heads/intake and he designed the cam from there. Being that it is a custom cam, im not going to post the specs. Im sure Chris could answer questions on the design details.

This should be a reasonable grocery getter

Well you should have used cam motion and not paid for anything except the actual cam shaft. I have many specs from them on different combinations that I think about running. As soon as I nail one down I'll have them grind it. I dont see the need for secrecy but if thats all you want is to say hey I did this and not share how you got there then ok. GFY and have a nice day. But saying you dont know the specs and then saying its custom you wont tell seems childish and somewhat dishonest to me, but hey I deal with kids all day so maybe its just a reaction. I understand that certain vendors do the same thing. Its how they sell for more money. If you want our secret you'll have to pay for it. I'm the opposite. I share my success and then give all the details so that others can benefit, or learn from my mistakes. I thought thats what the board was for. Nice numbers, people could learn from your combination but its usless info without knowing the cam specs and you seem like a schmuck about it so GFY.

As he said... that camshaft was ground using the variables of HIS engine. You aren't going to slap this cam in your heads/cam car and go running. For you to contemplate WHY the cam designer chose his specs, you'll have to ask 100 more questions.

The problem with posting intricacies of engine build specifications is that every keyboard commando think they know more then people with proven track records. It's not right for you to mooch off someone else's work. As you should know, the advertised numbers at .50 are only going to give you a small portion of the puzzle. Go do your own R&D.

BTW, had you PM'd White2000TA initially, he probably would have told you. Now that you're calling people names and getting so pushy.... get bent.

Also, he didn't know all of the cam specs until he received the engine yesterday.

I was very curious as I'm looking at the same motor as well as others. If it appeared he wanted to freely give info a hundred more questions would have followed, but what ever. No one has to share any info at all right? So this site would just be an advertsing gimick then wouldnt it. Hey I did this, if you want to know you'll have to pay me. We all loook at things differently,. Like I said if I have info to share I do it. GFY means Good For You. IF thats over bearing then I guess I'm a brute oh well. Like I said nice numbers.

If it was a 600 wheel horsepower number then i would keep the cam info a secret. But will make around 500 the wheels. Which is good but not to be secretive about it.
