Talking It lives!

I got the blower on & took the car for a test drive. (After wiring 1 coil pack wrong, backfiring & taking out the burst panel on the LSX intake causing a 1 1/2 hr delay). God this thing is noisy!

It took me about 20 minutes to get the ***** to lean into the throttle. The L-trims looked ok, so I thought why not? Well, it felt like it was going to do something special, until I hit WOT & ran out of injector. As soon as the TPS hit 100%, the injector duty cycle hit 30+mS. I need to install the 60 lbers & a BIG fuel pump before I try that again.

That run also took rib #8 off my new belt. Seems I missed the second spacer washer that came with the new pullies. So back apart it comes.

But hey, IT'S RUNNING!!!! Pics of the 'finished product' are on my website.

I hate those growing pains when doing a project like that, but I'm sure you'll have it all ironed out and running perfect in no time at all.

I was only in it for 1 sec, and trust me, it WON'T happen again. The Motrons will be going in Friday.

Now I need to pick the fuel pump configuration. I'm trying to decided between the Racetronix 255L kit with an MSD BAP, or the new dual 255L Walbro kit that Lonnies Performance is making. (the rep @ Racetronix told me about this) That would for sure require new lines, billet rails & a hi-dollar regulator etc. Will this little project EVER be complete?

I have the Racetronix and I might end up with the BAP setup. I like it and it supposed to fuel up in the 700 HP range with the BAP.

The only thing I've heard bad about the dual pump setup is that they are very easy to kill because you lose the baffles, so you cannot let the fuel level go down under 1/4 tank. You probably read, but a guy on the FI board killed both his pumps in 15 minutes like that.

No, this project will never be complete!

That is interesting, and pretty much decides it for me. Several of the inside car shows I want to attend say you must have no more than 1/8 tank of gas for fire safety. I guess I'll get the Racetronix & BAP setup & hope it works.

Are you still running with the stock fuel rails & lines Doug? What's your fuel press now? Stable? Do you have a regulator?

You only require a -6 Teflon return line and front-mount regulator. This can be done for under $200.00
The DP is not new. Lonnie's is assembling them using Racetronix parts.

Got the 60s installed. Much better! Now for the tuning. That helped Ellis, but it wasn't enough. I made a similar adj & played with the VE table. I'll let you know. Certainly need dry pavement......even at 60 mph 50% throttle breaks the tires loose.
