Not sure what the snout of that 93 cam looks like, but my stock 93 cam has a small hole in the snout. the 96's have a larger hole to accept the opti drive mechanism. Early lt1's use the splined shaft to turn the distibutor where the later use a piece that goes through the cam sprocket into the snout of the cam. If that 93 cam has the small hole, I don't think it will work. when looking at both compare the snouts of the cams. It will be obvious. yeah the dowl pins are different lengths.

Yeah you will have to machine the snout of the cam for your opti i had to do the same thing .500 which is 1/2 inch i cant remeber the depth and you will have to change the drive pin.Theres a link in www.lt1engine.com in the links section that takes you to rebuiling a LT1 and it gives you the differences in the years. My buddy works at a machine shop and he chucked it up in the lathe and machined it for me looked great!!!
