Default engine overhaul

Hey guys im trying to get the motor out of my trans-am its a 98, well im trying to disconnect the engine from the bell housing so ive removed all the bolts and lifted up the engine and removed the mounts plus all the other stuff leading up to this point but my transmission wont disconnect from the block so i cant get the engine out is there a special technique for seperating the two? i really need to get the engine out ASAP thanx

have you tried putting something in between the bellhousing and engine and prying a little? there should be some locator pins in there that might be keeping them together

okey thanxs i didnt know there was locator pins on it ill look for them do you know how many there are?

is there any special tchnique to taking them out? and exactly where are they located?

they shoudlnt really come out, they are just some small pins that are drove into the bellhousing. i havent had a ls1/4l60e apart, just going by some older small blocks i have seen.
