ok well like the title says..im going to be doing the heads/cam install over the next 3 weeks..when its all done...can i start my car to make sure it runs right on the stock tune? maybe drive it down the street? i wont be beating on it cuz of the stock injectors and fuel pump...but I want to at least be able to start it. im going to get a madZtune and 30#ers and a fuel pump but like i said..i want to at least be able to close the engine up..valve covers and valve lash..

IMO yeah, but get a tune asap. I drove mine for a few days on the stock tune

It would probably work, but it would run like **** if it did. Why not just get the tune while the car is down anyway?

i have the le1 and drove it a week until i got my tune from pcmforless. and i had 30# injectors, just ran a little rich. if that helps any.

Weird, when i pulled my chipa and put the stocker back in....she won't do anything. just turn over. but its worth a try. I cord, laptop, and pcmforless and your ready to put your foot in it. The cord goes for 90 and the software is free off the internet. I would jsut get it done. The stock injectors and fuel pump will be fine, he can tune if just fine. I've done 3 head/cams 2 of them with stock fuel supply and they run great...maybe even a little rich. PCMforless does a fine job of tuning.

I did..and ran fairly well. MAF over comes much but it will definately need a tune

ok good..i dont plan on driving it more than a mile or so..just want to start it a few times..let it run..do 3 or 4 heat cycles then drive about 200 feet..just to make sure everything is in good order. Then ill get my tune(once i can afford 30lbs injectors)

It'll start but the PCM it'll most likely stay in closed loop mode.
