Default HELP...small coolant leak at water pump

I recently noticed that I have a very slow leak at my water pump. I found a quarter sized puddle off coolant on the floor and tracked it down to where the water pump meets the block. I tightened the bolts up a little more and it seems to have gone away.

Is this a sign that the water pump is going out or a signs of more serious problem? Does anyone know what a new pump assembly costs? Is it a good time to consider an electric pump or are they not worth the money or gain for the hassle?

The water pump leaking from the weephole usually is a sign it is going out. If it's leaking between the block and the pump, you might just be able to replace the gaskets, it's not a very difficult task.

An EWP is not worth it on a street car IMO, especially if you have the rest of your stuff still on (PS pump, a/c).
