McLeod?
I plan on getting a Stage 5 Spec, but I was wondering what is so great about the McLeod? I went to their website and it didn't say much...unless I just looked in the wrong spots.
So whats so great about it? how much power can it handle? Drag clutch?
I'm just wondering if I should consider the McLeod...but I mean I could buy 2 stg 5's for the price of 1 McLeod....
I'm sort on cash, so maybe stg 5 now, and McLeod later?

Mcloed twin setup . I've had nothing but problems with it. I've had the disc come apart. The splines in the hub are made of soft metal, so when you launch at the track they round out (happened several times to me) and then you have send it to them for a rebuild. It's a good clutch for street driving but not drag racing at the track. If you want one bad enough, I have one for sale cheep and of course it needs a hub on one of the disc.

I'd give spec a try. I have a spec4 w/ f option and love it. No where near as many problems as my mcloed I have. I only had one issue(rivot came of disc) with spec and they where quick to fix it.

II have about 50 + passes 6K dumps on my McLeod twin , no problem.
Even had the trans out recently & inspected the clutch it's floater plate clearance etc & looks great.
It releases quick, in a short amount of travel & holds. Even broke a spohn chrome moly torque arm, so it definantetly holds. < reason for trans comming out, due to damage from arm breaking.... not fun.

i have a mcleod and love it. i think it is all about the install if you do a crappy job your going to f*** up the clutch. and have problems.
i also have a friend who has one and is cutting 1.5 '60 foots and hasnt had one problem. so
and the clutch is very very street friendly. absolutely NO CHATTER. the pedal pressure is sightly harder then the stock clutch.
just my 2 cents

As for your friend cutting 1.5's 60', I was doing the same until it stripped the splines on the hubs over and over.
I definatialy agree with you on it street friendlyness. I too loved it but I don't always drive on the street.
