clutch fluid hydro line?
ive been posting about a grinding noise from a stop to 1st gear when im releasing the clutch and i was wondering, when i installed my headers i didnt put that heat shield back in place to protect the fluid hydro line what could that do to the tranny cause i read that it could boil the fluid is that true? And the noise didnt start until after the accident i was in with her could the accident nocked something out of alingnment?I was going about 40-50 mph when a lady in a mini van decided she would try to beat the light and I t-boned her .i know the best thing is to take it apart but its my daily driver so time is money. Some help on this is much appriciated thanks

There went my theory. I was asking because I had a problem with my stock manifolds springing a leak and boiling the fluid in my line. It probably wouldn't hurt to get some exhaust shielding stuff from summit or jeggs to help combat the problem. I wish ya luck.

I'm having a bit of the same problem, sometimes my clutch pedal is even going a little limp. And it started after an accident too.
Main difference, is that mine is squirting the fluid down onto the header and it makes a sweet smelling smoke *mmmm Dot3!*
Mine never had a "heat shielding" on it that I can remember... it has some dumb rubber thing that only covers about 1/3rd of the line.
NOW, mine does get WAY worse after I've had the vehicle running for awhile and I've been using the clutch a bit (city driving), but I guess that would bve a given. Whether the heat plays any factor in it I'm unsure.
