JJKJ gave me the best run of any of the 5 GTO's I've run so far.

I'm on left John on right

.151 RT .445
2.180 60' 2.146
5.759 330 5.774
8.662 1/8 8.726
85.43 MPH 83.84
11.153 1000 11.238
13.252 1/4 13.359
107.71 MPH 106.36

Left 1st .4012

as far as mods:
mine has a Borla Cat back, and a N&N filter (probably why I have that extra mph trap)
John's has 18" wheels with 285 tires (added weight should help with wheel spin/hop)

I interpret it like this, if you haven't made a pass in the previous year you won't be able to be put on this years list, that is if your even fast enough to be on this years list! For example; if your ran a 10 this year and didn't run at all last year, you wouldn't be eligeble for the list this year.

I may be wrong, but that's how I read it......

I don't think that's how it is, that would mean you have to race for 2 seasons to even have the chance to get on the list.

I think it means that you can't run an 8 second pass in 02, have your engine blow up, and keep the top spot for years to come.. Just a way to keep the top 10 spots have recent time slips.

Thats kinda what I was thinking, but who knows........

Having a new list every year would make the most sense to me. That way you have new guys to beat with new times and don't have the same time from last year in your way or sticking around with all the new times coming from the new season.

Are you planning on spraying now? If you do you are gonna need a cage........

Nah I don't want to spray, I'm going to keep it NA. I'm too much of a whuss, I just don't want to risk blowing something. I just don't want to have to worry about the tranny like I was today, I'd like to just stage and go. Plus I think I'd pick up .1 or .2 secs w/ 3.42s. We'll see, I'll probably go by Rodney's when I'm in Chicago to talk to him. I figure it'll cost me about $3200 for a bullet proof tranny, diff, and dte brace. Launching w/ peace of mind PRICELESS. :)

But I'm gonna run her hard till the tranny blows, then I'll go for a built one! I'll at least get my moneys worth out of the stock tranny.

It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts before it goes boom! Should be a while considering I'll only be putting 400rwhp through it. Then maybe 550rwhp with spray.

Nobody from our group had much luck today. My best was a 11.22 @ 122 with some loud banging going on. Sound like the drive shaft was hitting, but it wasn't. To top it off the computer quit logging so I didn't get to see what was going on.

I got a second pass 3 friggin hours later after pulling 5mph & 500 rpm out of the shift points. No more banging & a whopping 11.59 @ 118! But I logged that run & the LTFTs were +14!!! I swear they were dead on yesterday when ELllis & I were tuning.....

But it could be worse. Robert broke an axle.....hope you get it fixed soon buddy! And I got to see where he lives.

PS The Hoosier DRs work fine. I came out @ 2k & they hooked fine & I ran 2 1.6 60's. This on a day when many people were NOT hooking.

I took one pass before I got fed up with a line that went around the curve in the track and out the gate. I have NEVER seen it that crowded before.

Anyhow, I did post a best time of 13.80 at 100.50 mph, with a 2.13 60' time.

I'm fairly certain with a little less tire pressure in the rear, and a little more in the front it would have broke into the blazing 13.7x range. And with less than a full tank of gas (yep, had me a full 18 or 19 gallons of fuel in there), maybe shoot for the stars and a 13.6x.

I'm sorry everyone had such a shitty day at the track. So was it just not prepped right or what? I would have thought at least one or two people should have got some decent times!

It sounds like you all got the shaft! So did anyone get any good times? Typically lanes 1 and 2 aren't nearly as bad as the rest of the lanes. But from the sounds of it, all the lanes were crammed! Earlier this season before I deployed, we only got 2-3 runs in then as well! So i'd say it was similar to then!

I personally like being around the cars and talking with freinds almost as much as getting a new best time or a great run period! So I would have enjoyed it either way. However, it'll be nice when Bremerton opens up and everyone has more time and runs to get there cars dialed in.

-Robert-
What's the word on the Vette? Was it the output shaft that broke or was it something else? Hopefully its the long output shaft so you can put the hardened one in. But when I bought it (because they are the ones that typically break) I found out it was the smaller one that broke (the stronger one)! That took me for a loop! I shouldn't have to worry about it now, but my tranny needs the strut brace still. :eek2:

I'm telling you...........one thing leads to another and another and another. You start with one mod and have to support it with another mod and the cycle goes on and on. :jest:

Well, I leave for Germany today and I'll go through some austere places and I'll let you know where I end up! Not looking forward to leaving Germany due to the money I'm making here, but it was inevetable. From what I have been hearing about our return date is that we may be out here longer than we expected...........not way longer, but something in the neighborhood of 2-3 weeks. That means I could return anywhere from late June to Late July. :bang: That only leaves like a little more than one month for racing! Or is the season longer than that?

I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to get on here from the other places considering this is a military computer that I'm typing on right now. So being able to keep up with what you guys are doing will be nice!

I went to Trier the other day and took a bunch of pictures of buildings and the surroundings. I'll try to get some pics posted some time! I went into a cathedral that was 1600 years old. It was emaculate and very well maintained. You would never have guessed it was so old. It was amazing, completely amazing. And enormous.....

Other than that, things are going good! I'll be keeping in touch! And that nitrous system and cage are going on when I get back! Take care!

At the rate things are going I won't be on the list at all this year :(

The vette delays are killing the likelihood of being able to get the turbo install on the truck done soon enough to get all the development wrapped up in time to actually race it.

Sometimes I hate this lifestyle. You just can't get things done on time!

Anyone who saw the car today can tell you there is more in it ;) Should be one of the 10 Second cars (two more were added today BTW) instead of a 11sec :( Yanks the tires pulls good then falls on its face. Looks like a failing fuel pump :bang:

You know as well as I do how much it sucks to break at the track, but as long as our group was running and having a good time without breakage, that's a good day. :jest:

Question about making the list... Does the slip have to be legal? In other words if I run say an 11 even and get booted can I use that time slip to make the list?
Helmet is in the mail so I'm getting ever so close. Say I run like an 11.91 or 11.89. I know that would be a legal run and would be good but what if I say well I can make top 5 but I now I'll get booted. Just hopefull thinking I guess. My luck I'll run a 13 n/a and a 12 on the juice. :jest:

Yes, at 11.49 you need all that stuff, plus longer wheel studs. And to run 10.99 you'll need an SFI balancer, tranny shield, flex plate/flywheel, and a few other items. If you don't have it, they WILL kick you out after going that fast.

That is not posted in the rules..

1) Only one submission per person.

2) Must be in the NW listing for the forum (i.e.:WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, SD, ND, NE)

3) Must be an active poster in the NW forum, no "I ran this" and never come back. If there is no post in the forum w/ in 1 month, time taken off the list and list will be adjusted accordingly.

4) Car must be active. If the car has not made the pass in the previous year it is not eligible for the list.

5) Must be licenced for street use
(current licence and registration)

6) Tire
a)Any DOT approved tire

My car meets these requirements right now, but it does not have the safety equipment nor do I have the license to post a 9 second pass right now.

That was in the rules. Maybe Ryan forgot to add it in. We do not want to encourage people to go out in illegal cars (per NHRA & track rules) just to run fast & risk getting hurt.

Dude, seriously, if your car is fast enough to make a 9 second pass, you NEED to be putting the money into it to make it compliant to ANY track and just to make it safe/get licensed if need be to do a 9 second run in. Just my $.02

I believe that means, the run must be from this season and active, no submissions from previous years on your car in the garge on jack stands. At least that's how I take it.
Not to be a dic, but I say no bikes. It's really an unfair comparison. Maybe, a seperate list for bikes? This I say as a bike owner. I will be running my nitrous Harley sometime this year. Not a fast bike like the Busa though, but still fun, I think?

Congrats ZEKE!!

It was definitely torque management holding me back... deleting it dropped my 60 foot times a bunch. Before my best was a 1.846, with a lot of 1.88's and 1.89's. Today, my best was a 1.792, and the other times were 1.81s and 1.82s.

And on that run, the 1/8th mile was 8.304 @ 84.21 mph.. later in the day I ran a 8.287 @ 84.19 mph, but that was in eliminations, and I ended up fender racing someone... I ran a 13.078 at 99.68 mph on the brakes at the end.

I'll be home in 2 weeks and guess what'll be waiting at my house? I'm trying to work out the fuel pump issues right now, but its difficult being way out in the middle of nowhere. I need to upgrade my pump bad. The stock pump is only rated to 500hp and I'll be putting way more than that down. Your trap speed is way higher than last time. I'll have to get with you when I get home to see all you did to your car. I'm stoked for you Ray.........that's bad ass dude!

I can't wait to get back to the track. I'm going to be adding a 15-hp wet plate system with all the safety equipment and the fuel pump. Then the tranny brace if I can afford it. My anniversary is coming up and I was going to use some of my mod money for that. But I really don't want to. :jest:

We'll see what happens. I may just throw the spray on with a racetronix pump and run N/A till the end of the day.........then turn the bottle on and get kicked out. :jest:

Um, I only have one question (been debating even raising the issue) but are we supposed to only be able to claim "legal times" this year? I know that was the case last year. If the answer is yes, then unless you bought an SFI approved racing jacket (11.99 & faster) since the last time I saw you run, this doesn't count.

Sorry Rey, but as race director it's my job to remind people of the rules.... :eyes:

The good news is, they only cost $100. The bad news is, if the track figures it out, they will kick you out.

Yes probably, but that dosen't matter. I was allowed on the list last year with a 11.04 run and had no roll bar, jacket or lap belts to mention a few. I didn't get kick out at that time, but it caught up to me later. So I think it is fair to say that this has been the policy all along. As long as you don't get the boot it's legal? and of course abide by the rules in the lead post. :)

The 3 of us need to get together and have some fun at the track. I don't remember the last time all 3 of us were at the track "RACING" together. All 3 of us may be there, but at least one of us was just there for support or whatever.

And come August....I'll be spraying as well. I won't have the cage yet, but I may still be able to run a low low 11 to high 10! I'll just try to sneak it in at the end. Or maybe the very first run I'll spray then once they yell at me I'll play stupid and turn the bottle off. :judge:

I can't wait to get back to the track!! :judge:

It is.....I'll be home in 8 days. The 11th of July!

I'll be at the next T&T or CCC as soon as I change my rear diff. fluid and change the oil. I have to take care of my car if I want her to take care of me. :judge:

I plan on changing the fluids immediately the day after I get home!

With any luck in about 3 weeks I'll be challenging for the #1 position. :judge:

And then next year IF all goes well I'll be racing Pro Street. I figure I can pulley it down / tune it to run the 10.50 or 10.90 class depending on which event I compete in. We'll see how it runs when the bigger s/c gets back....
