Stock MAF vs Upgraded MAF
I purchased a FAST LSX 90mm intake and a NW 90mm TB. Have not done the install yet. I would like to know from your experience how the stock MAF will perform vs and Upgraded MAF
thanks

Here is a great article form CarCraft that explaines the diffrences between.
http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/24549/
Bottom line: MAF is newer technology that measures the current air flow over the "Speed Density" system which attempts to calculate it using predertermined "Tables"... 80s Tech style. listen to Flock of Seaguls while programming and you'll fit right in.
You have a MAF, superior tech. stick with it unless you plan on running 9's

So you are saying my stock MAF will be adequate and I won't see that much difference between it and a $385 after market MAF?

Yes, i'm sorry.. I ran over that one.
The stock one should be fine and dandy for up to 475-500hm. Take off the screen and you'd be good to go. Free and easy. when you get a cam, supercharger, and NOS, then spend the monies for a new one.e

you said NOS.
Speed Density tunes are great for cars that need them - which yours probably won't unless you're running a decent sized cam. Otherwise just get a full on MAF tune and call it a day.
My question is why did you buy a 90/90 setup without the need for one? Typically people don't need that intake setup unless you have a good sized cam or a stroker - or are spraying a shitload of nitrous.
Just curious is all.
Also - saw the vortex throttle body spacer in the sig - you're kidding about that, right?

I do have a vortex TB spacer. Does it add HP? Who knows. I got it cheap and put it on. Car runs fine with it on there. So whatever.

makes much more sense about the intake deal now. although i don't think you're going to gain as much now compared to what the intake setup will help you gain when you do the heads/cam.

I appreciate the input cyphur. I'm always looking to learn. I held the order for now. I may just go with an LS6 intake and a mid size cam for now. Later when I do the heads I can always throw in a bigger cam.
