T-56 3rd gear trouble need help!!
T-56 grinding or just not wanting to go into gear about 80% of the time. Any tips on what could be wrong. What needs to be replaced and where or who is the best supplier of T-56 parts?
Thanks for all the help

If it's only with 3rd gear, then the synchros are probably shot and it needs a rebuild. There is a sponsor on the board that seems to be pretty popular for rebuilds.
If it's with every gear, it could be that you only need to bleed the system.

if the synchros are gone - you need to get the transmission fixed. However, I generally shift my T56 without a clutch by getting the RPM close to the right RPMs for the speeed/gear and the gears go nicely. Use your clutch and get the rpms close, it may help until you can get it fixed.

Don't jump directly to the synchros. It might be a conglomerate of things. Mine did this in 5th and then 4th then 3rd. I did have bad synchros, and needed new keys as a result of the original problem.I would replace the shift fork as well, now that I think about it since it sounds like you are going to have the transmission serviced.

Does anyone have a breakdown of the required parts to do a proper rebuild and maybe a link to an instruction guide. I along with my father in law can do the rebuild no problem. Thanks
