Default Difference in hp between these 2?

1) Qtp hvmc 1 3/4 headers, Qtp ory w/ flowmaster merge, 3" catback

2) pacesetter 1 3/4 headers, Qtp ory w/ flowmaster merge, 3" catback

difference in price is about 400 bucks

option 2 looks pretty tempting

on a stock internal engine..not much.
If you were to have a heads/cam setup, nitrous, or supercharger the hvmc would show some good gains over the pace's.

As far as quality/fitment, I think kooks/qtp are at the top, although I am biased.

In a heads/cam LS1 you may see around a 10 rwhp advantage with the QTPs that have the HVMC over the Pacesetters. I'd spend the extra money for the QTPs if it were my car. The QTPs are stainless steel, the quality and fitment is better than the Pacesetters, and they have the HVMC.

The pacesetters are not equal length tubes. they were designed around fitment.

save yurself the money and just go with the pacesetters. they are a proven performer. alot of people were skeptical about them when they came out, but they are one of the popular headers out there. from all the posts they tuck up really nice and easy. personally i would bother going with qtp. if you want a little more better quality then go for jet hots or hookers.

It seems to me like I will still get most of the power of the hvmc's if I go w/ the qtp y pipe and the pacesetters. From what Ive read so far, the flowmaster merge is critical.

I disagree. The pacesetters have thicker flanges and are a better quality header than the hooker/jet hots. The QTP's are one of the best quality headers out there. The HVMC's will help out in low end torque production even on a stock car. You don't need tons of power for the HVMC's to be a benefit.
