How many miles did your stock clutch last?
My next mod will be a new clutch, thinking of going LS7. My car just turned 60,000 miles and the clutch is starting to go. I was wondering what mileage did others change their clutchs out at??? Is my mileage low, average or above average for a clucth to last??

About 45,000 miles, but it's got 56,000 on it now. Learning how to drive a manual with the car didn't help clutch longevity. It's stuck a few times on hard 1-2 shifts, and it slips like a fat girl covered in grease going down a water slide if I punch the throttle at anywhere over 3500rpm. Hell, my clutch slips more than my tires.

I don't remember mileage but it wasn't much. However it wasn't the clutch that gave out it was the hydraulics. I had plenty of disc left when I swapped it out.

Bought my car at 40,000, they said it still had the stock clutch. 83k now and it slips a
little every now and then after a few hard shifts, but still works for me. 4:10's going in the back in the next week or two, probably won't be long after that.

Mine is at 36k and I smoked the hell out of at the track in the summer heat...95 degrees. After letting it cool down for about 3 hrs and then driving it easy for a while, meaning weeks, it finally starting grabbing again. In fact, it was holding well enough to propel the car to 11.87@120 with a dry shot of N2O.
On the street it would break the tires loose and get sideways in 2nd effortlessly. On most ocassions a fast shift to 3rd would chirp the tires and in rare instances break loose a bit.....depending on the surface of the road as well as outside temps.
I have the tranny out for a rebuild...got stuck in 4th, and I am replacing the clutch while it is out, no better time to do so. I think it would have lived a great deal longer as a bolt on car, but not with the added power of the N2O or the cam and Nittos that will be coming soon. The time I smoked it definately shortened it's lifespan.
Thanks for reading my novel

90,000 here and the new Mcleod is on the way. I can still drive it around OK, and even lay patches, but I can feel it slip above about 5400 and it slips on really hard acceleration. I thought 90K was pretty darn good for the abuse I've given it.

It was slipping at the track last summer when I was on it hard all day at 20K miles. Now its at 27K and is perfect for DD. Gona switch it out at 50K when I do 4.10s if it lasts.
