Be prepared to spend "BIG" money when you do this. Try Bruce Toole at Performance Transmissions in Sacramento, California.

IMO there is no 200-4R that is going to take a 1000hp and be bullet proof. Nothing is bullet proof, but a 4l80e would be a good choice. It will hold up to you horse power!! Check out www.finishlinetrans.com they have a level 5 they put in parish8's 5000lb truck that really takes a beating. FLT/PARISH

problem is that the 4l80e won't fit in a c5. I have been trying to find out what my options are. The more input from people the better.

thanks

that is some good news. how much heavier is the 4l80-e than the 4l60e. How much more power does it rob.

The 4L80-e is about 26 lbs more installed in the C-5, as it has a special light weight converter. and it will use up 10 HP more in overdrive
takes about the same power in 3th gear
But the weak link 4L60-e won't haunt you anymore

from what I hear that trans setup is going to be very expensive. I talked to a tech today and said that the th400 with overdrive and the 4l80e kits are both around $15,000.
