tailshaft plug
I'd like to get a plug for the tailshaft on my 4l60e so that when I pull the driveshaft I won't lose any fluid. I've heard all the tricks about stuffing a rag in there and putting a plastic bag around it but I would prefer to do things the right way. The problem is I'm having a damn tough time finding one. Napa has 3 listed. A GM small ( 1.5") a GM Large ( 1.8") and a generic ( 1.2-1.44"). I would assume I would need the GM small but I want to be sure before I order it. The generic one would be great but since the GM small is larger than the upper reading on it I don't want to chance it. Anyone seen these at any other places besides NAPA? I saw one at a sponsors site a year or two ago but can't find it now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm heading down to my local napa tomorrow and see what I can dig up. I went to the distribution hub in Columbus last Monday and they really weren't any help. The guy said check my local store, something about they can order parts from different places. If tomorrow turns up nothing I'm going to just stuff a rag in it and be done with it.

Found plugs. Pep Boys. I never even thought to look there and my father in law suggested it today. Went this afternoon and bought a pack of about 5-6 plugs for $13. I don't know why I never think of pep boys for car stuff. I rarely go there so maybe they just don't come to mind. Thanks for all your help.
