Default Questions for EFI Live...im a new user...

Whats the horespower and torgue calculations to enter into my EFI live??? And what exactly does the long term fuel trim mean? like if it says +3 on both banks, what would that mean exactly? why cant you use all the pid's on the list too? I thought this was made specifically for our ls1's???

I'll take stab at your 2nd question.

LTFT is Long Term Fuel Trim. Without getting technical, if values are positive, based on cruise data, the PCM thinks you are running lean and adds x% fuel to make optimum A/F ratio. If it is negative, it thinks you are rich and is taking out fuel at cruise. In negative condition, LTFT is set to zero when you go to WOT.

It's best to have it negative so fuel is not being added when you go to WOT other than from the Power Enrichment/RPM table. This makes tuning for power easier.

GM.LS1.TORQUE ENG - engine torque
GM.LS1.TORQUE DES - desired torque

You can also set up calculated PIDs to convert the torque to horsepower using the following formula:
hp = (torque*rpm)/5252
where torque is measured in ft-lb.

Depending on any modifications to your engine and/or PCM these torque figures may not be accurate. They are calculated by the PCM based on "known" values. Modifications can cause those "known" values to be incorrect.

Not all PIDs are available on LS1 vehicles. The reason we only support the LS1 is that the LS1 is the only platform for which we have carried out extensive testing and verification of the supported PIDs. As demand for more platforms increases we intend to add support for those other platforms.

Uh... I just bought EFILive today.

Used it for the first time. Cool!

The resolution over Autotap was my biggest reason for the buy.
