Default Safe boost for 10.9:1?

Well,

I picked up a maggie GTO kit for just a hair over 2k. And I may put it on this 408. Problem is, I've got -2cc diamonds and 72cc AFR225 heads. So even with a .060 gasket I am looking at 10.9:1 compression.

What kind of boost levels could I safely run on pump 93? 5psi? I would most definately change cams and try to tailor the cam to get a low DCR and no overlap.... any ideas on one of those?

Could this net me 600whp?

I don't know, the price was right and it's something to try. I bet it'd be torquey.

I sure as hell wouldn't run much boost at all with a cr that high. Maybe 4-6 pounds with a good fuel system and a safe tune.

Yeah that's what I was thinking 4-6psi.... It'll probably be killin' the MP112 blower to make that much boost on a 408 w/ AFR225s and a decent sized cam anyway.

I think finding or having a knowledgeable builder design me a custom cam that takes all this into factor will be the key.

depends on the cam mainly. You could get away with 8-10 lbs if the maggie will make it, which it probably will only make 4-6, on a GOOD tune and the right cam. Youd prob only hit 575 rwhp max with meth inj.
